Switch: Volume 1
So I picked up the first volume of Switch, and I have to say, it’s not bad. It seems a bit slashable in my opinion (where are the women?), but Naked Ape is made up of two women that also write BL doujinshi, so it isn’t surprising that it gives me the impression that fangirls will like it…

Switch is about two new investigators working for the Narcotic’s Control Division (and what happens to them, obviously).
One of them is Kai, who is pretty naive. I really don’t get him and his job, seeing as he detests pain (inflicting and receiving). The most interesting thing about him is probably that he nearly killed someone while on the job (after going through some personality mutation). Luckily for him, Hal (Haru) stopped him. So, in a nutshell, he’s the pure, pacifistic new addition to the work force doubling as a killing machine. Hurrah.
The other guy is Hal. There’s not enough of his personality shown so far, so I don’t really get him. He seems to hate Kai, think he’s useless, and never smile around him. He seems really grumpy all the time, however, he smiles sometimes in front of people related to drugs or to himself. Hopefully there will be more of his personality shown in volume two.
All in all, it’s off two a good start. It’s a bit hard to tell the characters apart when you first read (which I usually can’t endure), but it gets easier as you go. It isn’t the best manga in the world by any means, but its engaging, and I rather like it. If you read it, it is definitely not a waste of your time.

Pita-Ten: Manga vs. Anime
Those of you who have watched the Pita-Ten anime have been ripped off of a plot. I watched the few last episodes of the anime, just to see why everyone I’ve talked to hated it, and it was bad. Really bad.

Misha and Shia from the manga.
Okay, maybe it was a little cute, but definitely not what I was expecting, having read the manga. The manga’s appearance is rather deceiving because of the cuteness because the plot can depress a person. (The ending isn’t nearly as happy as the anime’s, trust me on that one.)
I know I’m not the first person to complain/rant about this, but this is my blog and I feel like doing so.
Anyway, if you’ve seen the anime, and were too repulsed to pick up the manga, just give the manga a second shot. In my opinion, it’s much better than Kamichama Karin (which has excessive shoujo-ness that is nearly gag-worthy, but rather good if that’s your type of manga, I suppose).

Mostly Manga
This is a blog about mostly manga. More importantly this is my blog about mostly manga.
I will be blogging mostly about manga, which can be inferred. Alright, moving on…
Here are a few things you might want to know:
1. I don’t know Japanese, so I read whatever I can find in English.
2. Some terms can get confusing, so I’ll be using the terms as they are defined at MU here: http://www.mangaupdates.com/genres.html.
3. I have my own tastes and opinions. I don’t care if anyone doesn’t like them; I am not forcing anyone to agree with my opinions, like what I like, or hate what I hate.
4. I don’t really know how to blog. I’ve never actually done it before. So, if it looks really stupid and weird, now you know why.
5. Other than manga, I’ll be blogging about anime and video games… Just not as much.
That’s pretty much all I can think of for now…
